Though Brian dabbled in swimming, biking, and running during and after college, he didn't officially become a triathlete until 2001 when he joined the San Francisco chapter of Team in Training and trained for the Wildflower Olympic distance triathlon. His performance was nothing to write home about, yet he was hooked.
It was also at Wildflower that he first saw the sea of fun-loving LA Tri Clubbers which, when he soon moved back to Los Angeles in the fall of 2001, he knew he wanted to be a part of.
Since his initial foray into triathlon in 2001, Brian has gone on to participate in many races - from sprint to Ironman distance events - though his favorites remain Wildflower and Santa Barbara.
Brian was elected into the role of Membership Director of the LA Triathlon Club in July of 2004. Though the role was not well-defined, he used his position to bring new life and a fresh perspective to the LA Tri Club Board. To that end, Brian solicited feedback from the membership, and looked to ensure that the Board operated in a way that was in the membership's best interest.
In early 2005 Brian's position within the Club was elevated to "Co-Managing Director." In this role he provides general oversight and advisement of all functional areas of the Club, from social to training activities, as well as organization development, marketing, sponsorships and website operations. Brian is extremely passionate about the LA Tri Club, and is proud to be a part of the Club's Board and to work with its' team of smart, fun, and highly-motivated Board members.
Brian works in Business Development for Yahoo!. Outside of triathlon, his interests include music, windsurfing, and travel.
