Lindsey Jessup

Hi, my name is Lindsey Jessup and I am a 19 year old college student from Chesterfield, Va.    There are many things I could tell you about myself, but the most prevalent one would be my eye sight.  I was born with a condition called Retinal degeneration.  I have 20/200 vision, so I am legally blind.  I have no night vision, and have trouble seeing in dim light.

This disability may seem devastating to some people, but I have found it only a minor stumbling block.  In high school I ran cross country and track, with my Coach as my sighted guide.  After four years of these two sports, I could now call myself a runner.

A year ago I attended my first year of college at Liberty University .   There I began my studies in Spanish and Music.  Even though I didn't join any of their sports teams, I still ran on the side.  Now I am taking another step, and trying my first Triathlon.  With my friends and family behind, my faith in God before me, and helpful hands to guide me; I hope to succeed in this new endeavor.
