Jacob Goldberg

Jacob was born with congenital motor nystagmus, hypoplasia of the macula, and Tourettes Syndrome. He rocks. He started running in the fifth grade with the Cross Country team at Donna Klein Jewish Academy. It did not take us long to realize just how much he excelled in this sport. He loves to run, relishing the freedom it gives him. Last year, he ran two half marathons and two triathlons with C Different. Since becoming involved with C Different, Jacob has learned so much from the other athletes; he loves C Different primarily for the nurturing and cohesive environment. He has found such kindred spirits in the other athletes, and he values the friendships he has made. The energy these guides, volunteers, and athletes embody has illustrated that seeing "different" will have no constraints on him; he can achieve whatever he sets his mind to, whatever goal he chooses to chase to the finish line.

Jacob is an honor student at Donna Klein Jewish Academy. He enjoys running, biking, swimming, and making movies. He has shown his classmates how even with a visual impairment, no deterrent is a constraint. He is very enthusiastic about his participation with C Different, and he hopes he can make a difference for others like himself.
